Security:
SiteSouth incorporates a state of the art managed IPS/IDS network intrusion prevention appliance across its core network. Our NSS-approved network intrusion prevention performs in-line deep packet inspection and reduces or eliminates malicious inbound and outbound traffic in real-time.
In addition to our IPS/IDS, each client has a dedicated firewall. The firewall settings are specific to your needs and security policies. It is not a shared device. We use Cisco ASA 5500 series firewalls. The Cisco ASA 5500 Series Firewall Edition enables businesses to securely deploy mission-critical applications and networks in a highly reliable manner. Businesses can protect their networks from unauthorized access using the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Firewall Edition's robust policy enforcement services. These services combine with VPN services to enable businesses to securely extend the network across Internet connections to your business partners, remote sites, and mobile workers.
Reliability:
The SiteSouth Business System was designed to help organizations achieve their availability objectives. Each dedicated server has multiple hard drives using hardware raid 1 for consistent performance and availability.
Each public server is managed and controlled by a dedicated hardware load balancer. Load balancing is a technique to spread work between two or more computers or other resources, in order to get optimal resource utilization, throughput, or response time. Using multiple components with load balancing, instead of a single component, increases reliability through redundancy. The workload can be shared amoung multiple servers or the system can direct visitors to a standby server should a server fail.
With the large network attached storage system you will be able to easily service multiple applications and store multiple copies of your data. With the addition of our iSCSI remote backup you will have remote copies of your data should you need to restore your data.
We can also offer optional multiple firewall and load balancers to further provide additional failure protection. In all cases, our goal is 100% uptime and availability.
Scalability:
The core Managed Business System is designed with a firewall, load balancer, five physical servers and a 14 drive storage array. Additional firewalls, load balancers, physical servers and a storage arrays can be added at any time. There are no restrictions on your expansion needs. Additionally, if you need a temporary server for things such as a DEV server for new application development or testing we also offer short term month to month leasing of add on servers.
Storage:
As businesses expand one of the primary issues facing any business is sufficient storage of data. Each of SiteSouth’s Managed Business System includes NAS storage of 1.5 TB. Our iSCSI remote storage system is capable of scaling to 60TB on demand. iSCSI allows access to our enterprise-grade Storage Area Network (SAN) storage over Ethernet, and is easily provisioned, highly scalable and outperforms internal disks.
Network:
For primary backbone routing we use multiple Cisco BGP4 core routers. For aggregation and customer distribution layers we use redundant Cisco routers with switching technology.
